Project Overview
During my tenure at Smart Solutions, I was responsible for the entire SCHRECK line of sites, both as a BA/SA as well as a PM.
This project was originally a rescue project from a prior agency that had developed a poorly crafted Magento site with junior programmers who did not understand even basic features of Magento such as standard multi-site capabilities. Due to this, the original rescue site was of very poor data and development quality.
Smart Solutions completely re-developed the website, providing all web services such as design, development, data migration, hosting setup, training, SEO, maintenance, and much more.
As a B2B focused site, this specific website is designed only for access by pre-approved wholesale clients and includes the standard B2B features you would expect from most mid-sized clients.
Example Services I Provided
- PM: All standard PM-based responsibilities, such as billing, reports, meetings, task assignments, scheduling, QA/Testing, and much more. As a mid sized client with minimal internal staff experience, this client required every standard PM-related support service over the 3 years I worked with them.
- BA/SA: All standard business analyst-related skills were utilized throughout the years with this client. Helping design integrations, gathering requirements, wireframe interfaces for new topics and more were done across the entire project base. This specific project was a multi-site project, with both B2C multi-brand focus and other B2B focus sites (different from those listed above). This client is using the free Open Source version of Magento, so does not have some of the more advanced features part of Adobe Commerce (such as advanced B2B elements), and needed some extra support to handle these native software gaps.
- Integration Support: This project has base levels of system integrations that are expected from mid-sized Magento clients. All integrations I handled complete requirements gathering, solution architecting, PM management for integration, design of customization needs, extension installs and related services.
- SEO Various Support and enhancement topics: such as core web vital score improvements, backlink/301 audit support, speed optimization support, integrations with GA/GTM, integrations with Google Merchant Shopping channels, managing the search console, CRUX reports and more.
- QA/Testing & Related: Any changes, updates, security patches, enhancements, deployments, and related needs to be done and tested carefully to ensure site stability. As a BA, part of my responsibilities was creating and supporting test plans, as well as from a PM standpoint managing the execution and review of the plans.
- Data Migration, Data Enhancement & Optimization: The original rescue site had especially poorly managed data, and helping the client fix and enhance his data was an especially large portion of the development project compared to most other projects.
