I have been creating many custom applications since the early 2000’s. Over the years I have probably been the primary BA for over 50 custom application systems.
For most custom applications I have provided primary BA and SA services, and often have been the primary PM during development phases.
I do not consider customizing and configuring systems to be a custom application.
To me a custom application may be complete stand alone systems built from the ground up, or in some cases may be complete application building within existing systems that provide large levels of business functionality, such as custom ERP systems. These would be systems that have taken many hundreds or even thousands of hours of production development work.
The following are just a few application examples of projects I would classify in this category.
