https://timbermart.ca/

Founded in 1967, TIMBER MART is the largest national member-owned buying group in Canada for the true independent entrepreneur. With hundreds of members, including independent building-material and hardware retailers, commercial dealers and manufacturers located in every province across the country, TIMBER MART provides its extensive dealer network with a menu of competitive buying programs, comprehensive marketing services and personalized support to drive independent business success.

Project Overview

While working for Graphically Speaking, one of the projects I designed and managed development of was a dealer portal custom application for Timber Mart.  This portal provided various features to any Timber Mart member, such as a product catalog, ordering system integrations, documentation, member resources and other common features in most B2B dealer portals.

Services Provided

  • BA/SA:  All standard business analyst-related skills were utilized throughout the few years I worked with this client.  Helping design the applications from the ground up, integrations, gather requirements, wireframe development of all interfaces, UI/UX design, and more were done across the entire project base.  Every interface in the system was designed by me.
  • QA/Testing & Related:  Creating test plans, delivery processes, helping manage testing resources and related common QA services.
  • Secondary PM:  I supported the primary PM in standard PM-based responsibilities, such as billing, reports, meetings, task assignments, scheduling, QA/Testing, budgeting, quoting and all related services.  As the project was a slightly more complex application built on top of a Magento framework, the primary PM required technical support especially on various project management topics.
  • Dev PM:  All standard development PM related responsibilities, such as scheduling development, working with the programmers, handling sprints, communicating requirements and more were handled by me throughout the initial development project cycles.
